An incredibly underrated group. There may still be a video of them up on Youtube. The production, beats, and rhymes are well ahead of their time. It's Sam Sever's 1st project for a group that he is a direct member of; opposed to his work with 3rd Bass where his role was relegated to the liner notes. 3rd Bass would not have had their distinct sound without Sam Sever. --jorgekluney

I'm curious as to why the author of the article feels that Downtown Science had a sound comparable to Public Enemy? Same Sever and the Bomb Squad (Shocklee) had quite a different sound. Both groups relied on sampling.... but you'd have a hard time finding a group that didn't sample back then. Biz Markie didn't f' it up for everyone yet. --jorgekluney
