Quick note[edit]

I have put the names of the books as "Dr. Xargle" as that's how they're listed on Amazon - If you look at the pictures of the covers though, it's written "Dr Xargle" on all of them - there's no stop after Dr.! It's splitting hairs, so I left the dot on. JaffaCakeLover (talk) 15:05, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cartoon[edit]

There may have been an animated series! Don't remember this, trying to find more info:

  • Was broadcast in Canada, the United Kingdom & Germany
  • Was broadcast on ITV in the UK
  • Each episode was 30mins long
  • There's a Titlecard on there that could be used on here (thought it'd be nice to have a pic for the books first)

Pronunciation of Xargle[edit]

This page states it is pronounced Zar-gul. This is the best I can do for Wikipedia, with my practically non-existant knowledge of pronunciation:

'zaɹ/ (from 'Bizarre', IPA /bɪ'zaɹ/)

/'gʌl/ (from 'Gull', IPA /'gʌl/, as in 'Seagull')

'/'zaɹ'gʌl/' (should read Zar-Gul!) JaffaCakeLover (talk) 15:14, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

...Just realised that Dr. Xargle should rhyme with Gargle. Also found Wikipedia:IPA for English, which gives me '/'zɑrgəl/' ! OK! JaffaCakeLover (talk) 15:22, 30 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
