Probably one of this best of this underated and both overated band.

A bit pointless...[edit]

... to mention that ALL the chords are fifths. Of course they are! We all know that. It also might be extraneous to even mention the chord progression, because it doesn't really have anything to do with the content of the song beyond how it sounds, and if you don't know any musical theory it is completely useless.

I think we should edit it to remove the chords or at least the fifths, which I'm going to go do right now. Feel free to change it back. Not to mention, the chord progession for the chorus is wrong anyway...

Another live version[edit]

There is a live version of this song the band performed as an encore for their first French TV appearance on the Second of February 1994. Halfway through the song, Kurt's guitar stops working, Pat Smear takes the lead on guitar and then Kurt screams "Drain" about 35 seconds later. This version is unreleased, But is probably available, Along with the video, In bootleg circles.

Remove "On a Plain" link from Nevermind page[edit]

Since this article is based on the LIVE promo single from From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah and not the studio album version (Nevermind), you should take the link for this page off the track listing for the album (Nevermind) since there never was a single for the studio version of On a Plain. Promo Single release[edit]

It is important to note that the Promo single of this song was from the "From the Munddy Banks of the Wishkah" live album and it was NOT a single from Nevermind. The promo single version is what this article is about. Music video[edit]

I believe that when the live version of "Drain You" was released as a promo single in 1996 for the From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah album, that it was accompanied with a live music video taken from the Live and Loud show. Similar to how when "Aneurysm" was released as a promo single for the same album, a music video was released taken from the Live! Tonight! Sold Out!! video, as the versions on the Wishkah album were not filmed on video. The "Drain You" video may have only been aired in the US.QuintusPetillius (talk) 14:15, 20 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
