Drapetes (beetle)Drapetes (animal) – misleading because only ONE animal genus Estopedist1 (talk) 18:40, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would strongly oppose this renaming; it would set a terrible precedent, given how extremely more useful and specific "beetle" is compared to "animal". The OVERWHELMING majority of such disambiguations within Wikipedia (at least for insect genus names) specify WHICH group of insects a genus belongs to. I don't even like "insect" for many of these, as it is overly generalized - and "animal" is far worse. Dyanega (talk) 19:00, 22 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose - As is noted above, it's not a great precedent and there are many, many of these existing in this current format already. e.g. Harmonia (beetle), Pyrophorus (beetle), Cyphochilus (beetle), Tribolium (beetle), Colophon (beetle), etc. which work just fine for their purpose.
