]] == Should Queen Victoria be on this list? =yes

she should = The Opium Wars seem to fit the criteria for inclusion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.166.241.119 (talk) 08:32, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

David Sassoon would be the actual drug lord.C'est la vie (talk) 19:59, 6 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The definition of drug lord given here is that they "... are insulated from the actual trade in drugs by several layers of underlings." David Sassoon is himself argueably a drug lord or large scale drug trader, but is an underling relative to Queen Victoria's lofty status in the Victorian era of opium trading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 123.3.247.233 (talk) 20:56, 16 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

how did they get caught???

[edit]

i was just thinking while reading the article, how did they get caught i mean these guys ohbviously had a lot of power and i dont think they would like jail that much right? so what and how did they pop up on the radar of the fbi and how did the fbi get to them? By the way i did read that one of them handed himself in! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Splinter2 (talkcontribs) 20:18, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

~Escobar wasn't the brightest, was he?~

Seriously, if he wanted to stay on the drug market, he shouldn't have ordered all those deaths. He would have made more money by staying under the radar and gathering a TON of cash. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.5.142.188 (talk) 17:01, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

if he didnt order deaths=

[edit]

okay but if he didnt order those deaths then they would have killed him and the other people would have keep his money... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.139.224.111 (talk) 16:12, 13 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The Widowmaker ?

[edit]

I was told some where that there was at one point a female drug lord nicknamed the widowmaker can any one tell me anything about this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.158.40.252 (talk) 06:54, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The entire section reads as pure conjecture and speculation. How are any Wikipedians going to be au fait with current drug trafficking trends?!? I vote for a deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.37.240.163 (talk) 08:27, 29 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Howard Marks (AKA Mr Nice)

[edit]

I feel Howard Marks should be included in this article, as he was one of Britain and America's most notorious drug lords, and has all the necessary information already on his own Wikipedia page.

I was thinking the same but in reality a massive pot dealer would hardly be considered a drug lord nowadays. It's simply harmless pot whereas most of these guys ran hard ass empires which employed violence and involved the trafficking of some proper dangerous drugs.--ЗAНИA talk WB talk] 23:49, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What?

[edit]

"...alprazolam illegally to individuals on the streets profiting more than $20 million and ganizani know as #14."

I'm not sure what the end of this sentence is trying to say and I don't know how to fix it. It's under Rakesh Jyoti Saran's section, end of the first paragraph. -Mr. Man (talk) 18:33, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Was this written by a 10 year old

[edit]

Roberto Suárez Gómez section reads like it was written by a 10 year old, actully most of the article does — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.11.35 (talk) 19:15, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can't say I disagree. I have tagged it for an interested party to review. Home Lander (talk) 19:37, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Article needs overhaul

[edit]

This article violates WP:NOTDIR. All these drug lords should be listed under a section called "Notable drug lords" without any write-ups. The main article should explain what a drug lord is. Yoninah (talk) 14:13, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Support a rewrite/overhaul. This article should be a broad and general overview, and not require the reader to go through all these examples to infer what a drug lord is. It could break down the subject with sections by historical period or region. The article is very American-centric and would benefit from expansion with more coverage of Africa, Asia and Europe. I feel it could also include drug warlords. – Reidgreg (talk) 16:55, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. I can see the issues, but I don't know if I would be much help in fixing them. @Rgr09: Not sure if you are interested or have thoughts on this. -Location (talk) 17:16, 11 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Doug Ford

[edit]

There is no reason to have Ford's picture on this page. He is not listed under notable drug lords, nor is there a mention on his page that he was one. That he may have dealt drugs yes, but even with that there is no proof that he did and is only an allegation. Jackfork (talk) 18:37, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I'm confused, should it not be "involved in the ILlegal drug trade" in the first phrase of the article? Am I missing something? Marty5550 (talk) 17:52, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
