Used to carry injured troops in World Wars 1 and 2[edit]

This claim was made in the lede in 2019 and was uncited. I have removed it as I cannot find any evidence of this. World War I was not fought in Australia so it seems unlikely the tunnel would have had a special role in moving injured troops. Similarly while troops might have sustained injuries in North Queensland during WW2, why would this tunnel be singled out in terms of moving them. If they travelled by rail, they presumably passed through many parts of the North Coast railway line and any associated tunnels, so I can't quite see what special role this tunnel would have had. Perhaps the person who added it (an IP) was confusing this tunnel with some other tunnel near a WW1 and WW2 battleground. Kerry (talk) 03:41, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Because the info about injured troops has been in the article for a few years, you will find a handful of webpages that repeat the claim which I presume they found in this article and copied. Certainly none of them offer any sources or further information. So please don't use such webpages as source for the claim. Kerry (talk) 03:44, 25 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
