Additional sources needed[edit]

For the article as it stands at 11:11, 13 August 2007, additional sources are needed to support the following statements:

  • A passionate music fan (and, during his youth, a drummer), he soon began making his reputation with eccentric interviews of top musicians which came as close to gonzo journalism as New Zealand had known. * he was as highly regarded by musicians as by the public and was able to gain access to frank interviews with normally reticent stars.
  • "are regarded as the best the reggae musician ever gave."
  • Taite is also reputed to have been behind some of the publicity stunts connected with Malcolm McLaren's time as manager of The Sex Pistols.
  • One of the ideas Taite is said to have given to Malcolm McClaren was that the Sex Pistols should sign their contract to EMI outside Buckingham Palace.

There is also discrepancy regarding the date of Taite's death. Implication of two of the sources, Dylan Taite R.I.P. and NZ culture richer for Dylan Taite’s contribution is that Taite died in January 22. Broadcaster Dylan Taite dies says he died on the 25th. Since the previous two sources were published prior to the 25th, I have defaulted to majority. --Moonriddengirl 15:16, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
