Hello Toshiba experts - I came to this page because I can usually rely on WP to provide a more coherent and concise overview of a topic / product than the original author or manufacturer. Unfortunately in the case of the Toshiba Portégé this is (at least temporarily) not the case. I'm hoping that someone with more knowledge of the product than me can update the page to reflect the current model range. RegT49 (talk) 05:12, 27 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

about Portégé

[edit]

Is it possible that Portégé is a mistake made by marketing? In French, Protégé mean protected. Portégé is not a word. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.109.104.44 (talk) 17:46, 28 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's a pun on the word "portable." If it was a mistake they would have noticed in the past 20 years I think. 216.165.95.74 (talk) 20:43, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a francophone yet I don't see any "pun" in Portégé. Could anyone explain? I only see a spelling mistake of Protégé. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.68.145.163 (talk) 02:47, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Portégé is indeed a pun or made up word - probably means "Portable" + "égé" - to make it sound high end or elite. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.97.62.16 (talk) 14:54, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

m400 missing?!

[edit]

It seems that m400 is inexplicably missing from the list. As far as I know it was launched in 2006, Core Duo, no Webcam. It was one of the most popular models of the line, so its omission weird. I don't have all the data, but unless someone can explain why it's not there, I will add myself what I do know. Cheers, Zamolxis.name (talk) 20:03, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
