Fair use rationale for Image:E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt).jpg[edit]

Image:E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt).jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Name of Article[edit]

Having come across this article, I could not understand for the life of me what (Annoyed Grunt) meant. When I reached it and saw that it was actually "D'oh", it made perfect sense. Why is the article named this way, as I'm sure the actual episode was named "d'oh"?!? This needs to be changed for clarity, as the title prestns a double-title for the episode that is both confusing and not true. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Varkstuff (talkcontribs) 17:52, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No! In all the Simpsons scripts you will read Annoyed Grunt instead of D'oh. That D'oh is the creation of Dan Castellaneta because there was no description how Annoyed Grunt has to sound. And the official title is E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt) and not E-I-E-I-D'oh. --77.181.68.247 (talk) 11:07, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Which has lead to episodes having "(Annoyed grunt)" put in their title where the pun or play on words intended would work with "D'oh", such as this one, I, (Annoyed Grunt)-Bot, and others. Is it suposed to be read as annoyed grunt or D'oh though? Will Bradshaw (talk) 19:43, 6 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It needs to be read as Annoyed Grunt. Otherwise they would have put D'oh like in certain other episode titles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.191.216.25 (talk) 08:00, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Good Article review progress box
Criteria: 1a. prose () 1b. MoS () 2a. ref layout () 2b. cites WP:RS () 2c. no WP:OR () 2d. no WP:CV ()
3a. broadness () 3b. focus () 4. neutral () 5. stable () 6a. free or tagged images () 6b. pics relevant ()
Note: this represents where the article stands relative to the Good Article criteria. Criteria marked are unassessed
  • Lead should mention that "tomacco" was actually produced, and should wikilink Zorro  Done
  • The infobox's chalkboard gag doesn't need a ref  Done
  • Sources all look good enough, with the Twitter link for a direct statement by a creator
  • One commons image, used well
  • Some recent vandalism in the edit history... have the IPs been quashed?
  • I've made some grammar edits in the article
Plot
  • duel, dawn, RV, land, mincemeat, helicopter and sheep don't need wikilinks  Done
Production
  • Is it worth mentioning that "Glove Slap" is a parody of "Love Shack"?  Done
Themes and cultural references
  • In especially its "blatant historical inaccuracies" which sees the film feature Zorro, King Arthur, the Three Musketeers, the Scarlet Pimpernel, the Man in the Iron Mask and ninjas in nineteenth century Mexico.", there's another quotation mark at the end - is this extraneous or is part of the list a quotation?  Done Fixed quotation issue. Its one long quote.
  • The grammar in the cast list needs to be tightened up.  Done
  • This paragraph on The Poke of Zorro feels a bit messy, it could be rewritten to read better  Done
  • The other paragraph is just a list, and isn't great to read either. Style is weak.  Done
Release
  • In the Nature 'review'... that's not a review, that's just recapping the episode. All of , writing: "Homer's attempts to be a farmer in 'E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt)' involve using plutonium as a fertilizer. DNA from tobacco seeds and tomato seeds blend to produce a fruit that tastes like ashtray, but is nonetheless 'refreshingly addictive'." can just be removed
  • The three review paragraphs can be consolidated
Legacy
  • Remembering the article in a textbook, Baur cultivated real tomacco in 2003 - what article (needs clarifying in the article)? Is it the scientific journal? If so, is he really inspired by the Simpsons, then?
  • The Baur paragraph reads very staccato and could be improved
  • Sneed's Feed and Seed... the first part is unreferenced, and also isn't that clear or informative so could just be removed.  Done removed.
  • Maxtone-Graham doesn't need a wikilink here  Done

Overall[edit]

  • Mostly needs some improvements in style. Kingsif (talk) 19:40, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
