naming

[edit]

I don't really like the E-1 sponsor name in here. What is it anyway? It that a company, maybe it should be linked. -Koppapa (talk) 09:53, 24 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The women's tournament is not a separate tournament anymore, but uses the same name with the men's tournament. Cirolchou (talk) 09:47, 5 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Having it split into two is better in my view. I mean the Olympics are split too. By the way, what does E-1 stand for? -Koppapa (talk) 08:20, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
There isn't an article called Women's football at the Summer Olympics, right? You can create a separate article about women's tournament at 2017 EAFF Championship (and it should be), but a general article for women's tournament is not necessary anymore. As for the meaning of "E-1", I can only say I don't know, but I don't think it's a sponsor name. Cirolchou (talk) 09:15, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, the Olympics argument backfired then :-) You are right. Also note it was in that format previously. -Koppapa (talk) 11:44, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The first comment that the Womens tournament is not seperate is wrong, it is. It may be hosted in the same country at the same time, but their results do not go towards the mens teams, so they are very different. Druryfire (talk) 20:24, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, the first comment that the women's tournament is not seperate is CORRECT. The EAFF has launched a single tournament logo and name for both, unlike the previous editions where the men's tournament was "East Asian Football Championship/East Asian Cup" and the women's "East Asian Women's Football Championship/Women's East Asian Cup" (along with different logos for both tournaments respectively). It's been merged into a single tournament with men's division and women's division. The two articles should be merged to reflect this.--Propheceer (talk) 15:08, 18 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Closing, given that this discussion is stale and with no consensus. Klbrain (talk) 06:49, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
