Nomai relationship

[edit]

RPS Media, formerly of the chemical group Rhône-Poulenc Systèmes, was acquired by Nomaï S.A. in September 1997. At the same time Nomai and EMTEC announced a distribution agreement where Nomaï would manufacture products under the EMTEC and RPS brands. In July 1998, Iomega purchased a controlling stake in Nomaï.

  • RPS info (fr) - according to this page, EMTEC "acquired" the RPS brand in 1997, about the same time Nomai and EMTEC struck a deal and when Nomai "acquired" RPS.

Novelty pen drives

[edit]

Is this notable or worthy of inclusion?

"2011- EMTEC began creating rubber animals that separate to reveal a flash drive inside. There are multiple selections, some being a penguin, turtle, rabbit, chicken, clownfish, and dolphin."

Yeah, novelty pen drives similar to what countless Chinese OEMs have been making for years? Is this really the only noteworthy thing they've done recently?!

Possible division of EMTEC?

[edit]

The day before I wrote this, I saw a EMTEC USB stick (the transparent blue model) that had different branding (if i remember correctly it was OON). I wonder if it's some sort of division of EMTEC, or just some knockoff brand. -Chazpelo (talk) 18:27, 17 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
