2278 or 2279?[edit]

It seems that there is another similar article referring to the same event: Air New Zealand Flight NZ2279PeterCX&Talk 15:30, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

and also Air NZ calls it NZ2279. (Incident onboard flight NZ2279) – PeterCX&Talk 15:41, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not the first aircraft hijacking in NZ[edit]

The first was the gunpoint hijacking of a helicopter in Eltham, Taranaki in 1995, by anti-1080 protester Chris Short. The helicopter was flown to the Tongariro National Park where the crew were held for days until Short agreed to give himself up. Links: [1], [2]. Amygdala (talk) 00:19, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the information. I don't think the 1995 hijacking is worth adding to List of aircraft hijackings, which is for "notable" hijackings which presumably means hijackings of large commercial flights, but its a worthwhile note in this article and if there's ever another such incident in New Zealand, someone will probably write Aircraft hijackings in New Zealand.-gadfium 01:09, 6 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
