I've added the structure (as specified in Wikipedia:WikiProject_Schools) with some data and references. I am personally not associated with, and have never set foot inside this school. Perhaps in time, another editor with actual experience can contribute some information on the Campus section. I'm still waiting for that nice perfect day to go and take a digital photo. --Ted 00:49, 11 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Have updated total enrollment. Other enrollment numbers need to be updated and link to XLS document may have the information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rossidor (talkcontribs) 13:15, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Updates for 2021

[edit]

I've updated the History section considerably with decent citations; I've been chasing the pre-1911 history of EHS for several years and finally have enough material for a reasonable summary. It is very hard to find published photos of the 1891 building even though it sat right next to the Iowa State Capitol for around 70 years. USGS aerial surveys show that the 1891 building was still present in 1960 but had disappeared in 1970. Thus far I have no idea of the exact year of its demise.

The Denny treatise is extensive and contains a trove of information, some of which could perhaps be added to the main article. For instance, it records that the first athletic field was situated atop an old cemetery, and that early football games often ended in brawls, requiring some particular effort to stamp out the violence ca. 1903.

The Iowa Jazz Championships entries have been removed as not sufficiently notable since they were not first place.

I sent a query to Destination Imagination asking if they can publish pre-2003 results to substantiate the 2002 global championships claim. They replied that they have nothing archived prior to 2003 and that those were the very early years of the organization. So I am removing that item for now, until someone can provide suitable documentation.

There are a couple of inconsistencies in the construction/renovation chronology of the current complex that should be cleaned up. Construction dates for the North Wing differ by 5 years. Information in the Campus section about the construction phases needs some citations, which I am pretty sure can be found. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Caveduck (talkcontribs) 20:45, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
