Can we change article name to "Eastern Coral Reef" as this is racist. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.18.27.195 (talk) 16:27, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The names Eastern Sambo, Middle Sambo, and Western Sambo for reefs near the Florida Keys are used by the US Geological Survey. See Systematic Mapping of Bedrock and Habitats along the Florida Reef Tract. They also appear to be in common use in the area. Per the policy at Wikipedia:Article titles, we use "commonly recognizable names" as the titles of articles. In a case such as this, where the commonly used name is not neutral, then the section at Non-neutral but common names applies. If you can find reliable sources that provide neutral alternative names for these reefs, then you can offer them as targets for a name change. Short of that, I do not see grounds for changing the titles of these articles. - Donald Albury 01:53, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
