Remaking article

It's been said by multiple people that this articles merger was problematic, so I could technically just remake it with a quick explanation in the summary, but I feel like making my own life miserable so I'll give actual reasoning here

The AFD that caused the merger was problematic. The nominator alleged that the article was some sort of hodge-podge of prison riots and gang violence, which in itself is notable among news sources today. The prison riots and gang violence is well reported on and notable. They also claimed that the name "security crisis" was barely used among news sources, whichisincorrect. And some more: [1][2] [3] [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11].

If necessary, the article can be reformatted to consist of content more related to the security crisis rather than a long chronology, but the content already in the article ought to stay. Looking through it, most content is notable to the subject anyways.

@Presidentofyes12: I have assessed this article as a List as it primarily looks like a timeline of events with a top-heavy lead section that is so long I didn't bother to even read it when first assessing the article. The length of the lead section should probably be reduced to a couple of paragraphs; having five is excessive. If you want to go into more details then divide the lead into sections with various headings, such as the historic context and the deep background to the crisis, the more recent past, the buildup to the current situation, the latest events that lead to the current situation in 2024, and the government's response to bring the situation under control. While I understand you think the AFD that caused the merger was problematic, I can also understand why it was proposed and merged. Rather than simply recreating the previous article, I think you have an opportunity here to provide a deeper background to the 2024 conflict in Ecuador by writing a better article. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 00:53, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Presidentofyes12: Let me know if you need help with this article or have any recommendations. We were discussing organization of the topic and have already determined to avoid further merging for now, but a new title might be appropriate.
@Lukt64, Ecrusized, Genabab, ViceViceBaby, TheBritinator, Hilst, Mapperman03, Presidentofyes12, Gorgonopsi, Chaotic Enby, Fontaine347, Cameron Dewe, LuxembourgLover, and Borgenland: Any thoughts on this article's title based on consistency? There is only one of the "security crisis" article (2010 Rio de Janeiro security crisis) on Wikipedia, which is itself part of the Armed conflict for control of the favelas in Greater Rio de Janeiro.
After reviewing similar articles, I found two other possible, consistent title examples:
