Birth month.
[edit]I changed the birth month from November to October, based on the ISFDB and the IMDB both saying the latter. If anyone has a reliable source saying November, please note it here when you change it in the article. grendel|khan 01:47, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Secret of Sinharat/People of the Talisman Revision?
[edit]I've seen references to Hamilton's role in the Eric John Stark Ace Double revisions, but I've not seen it sourced outside Wikipedia. Is this originally from Moskowitz?--Iquander 19:22, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
lazy false "truisms"
[edit]"As the SF field grew more sophisticated, his brand of extreme adventure seemed ever more quaint, corny, and dated."
This line, aside from being harsh and insulting, is unsourced pure opinion, implies that an extremely versatile writer who sold to almost every market there was had only the one "brand of extreme adventure", and ignores things like "What's It Like Out There?" which is hardly extreme adventure but is, rather, its antithesis. It ignores things you can cite like "[The Captain Future work, etc.] made it initially somewhat difficult for him to be accepted after WWII as the competent and versatile professional he had in fact been for years, a writer with a much wider range than was generally realized, one who had already produced several stories whose comparatively sober verisimilitude prefigured post-WWII requirements" and "EH shared with his long-time colleague Jack Williamson a capable and flexible attitude towards the post-WWII genre and its markets.... Through his ability to evolve a cleaner and more literate style to meet these new demands, and to apply this style to his old generic loves, EH wrote novels at the end of his career that read perfectly idiomatically as novels of the 1960s..." - both quotes from the second edition of The Encyclopedia of Science Fiction, in an article signed by John Clute. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.69.196.134 (talk) 20:54, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
