Did You Know
A fact from this article appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the "Did you know?" column on April 4, 2013.
The text of the entry was: Did you know ... that Admiral Eduard von Capelle (pictured) was responsible for writing the legislation that funded the battleships of the German High Seas Fleet before World War I?

Kingdom of Hanover vs German Empire

[edit]

When Adm. von Capelle was born, Celle was in the Kingdom of Hanover. The German Empire was founded in 1871. Prior to that, Celle was, as I mentioned, in the independent Kingdom of Hanover, ruled by the Hanoverian line. Admittedly, there was the German Confederation, but that was just a loose confederation, by no means a nation, let alone an empire. Hence, in accordance with the "be brave" rule, I changed his country of birth from "German Empire" to "Kingdom of Hanover".

Ah, you're very right. I wasn't paying attention to the year when I wrote the article. Thanks for fixing this. Parsecboy (talk) 18:21, 4 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
