If this is a straight crib from the original DNB, that possibly explains the phrase, (in relation to Morant Bay) "a rising of the natives". But it doesn't excuse it. The use of the term "natives', excluding its common pejorative associations in the Victorian Empire, is just plain historically inaccurate. A great many of the folk against whom the rising was claimed to have been directed were themselves born in Jamaica, and therefore "natives" Amendment is needed.Delahays (talk) 18:06, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
