Species

[edit]

"Elephants are the largest species of land animal alive today." In this way, it seems that the species are large (with big number of animals), which is not. These animals, and not their speces, are the largest. Laurusnobilis 17:36, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Split article?

[edit]

If no one objects I will split off the Elefant part as they are really different words (never used interchangably, and not just a case change or pluralisation) and it is particularly confusing as the two aren't merged into one list, so anyone following a link from the main article, Elefant will wonder why they were sent here not noticing the second list further down the page.

This would be good. --Piet Delport 02:02, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Splitting now. —Joe Llywelyn Griffith Blakesley talk contrib 14:56, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

various Elephant placenames

[edit]

I just added two "Elephant Hills" and thought ot have a look at topozone/USGs for entries there - there's lots. Elephant Hill (Utah), Elephant Mountain, Elephant Tusk Mountain, Elephant Butte etc. I don't have Topozone/trails.com access so maybe a US editor who has knowledge of US geographic-location resources might care to flesh these out.Skookum1 (talk) 22:27, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think I would advise against this, based on WP:MOSDAB#Examples of individual entries that should not be created. Paul Erik (talk)(contribs) 02:43, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
