Caus near Shrewsbury[edit]
I noticed an inline query about Caus. Speaking as a lifelong resident of west Shropshire, I can confirm it would be the same vicinity as Caus Castle. Although the castle was ruined by Bicknell's lifetime, there would still be farms and cottages in the vicinity. There is a Caus Castle Farm near the castle site as well as a Cause Mountain where VC recipient John Doogan lived at the 1911 Census, and a Causebeach. The locality is in the civil parish of Westbury (Shropshire). Cloptonson (talk) 22:25, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
