The name of the opera

What is the correct name of this opera? Secondary sources seem to be confused. The List of operas by Cherubini gave it as 'Elisa' before it was changed. Oxford (i.e. Warrack, John and West, Ewan (1992), The Oxford Dictionary of Opera) and Amadeus give Éliza (accented). The latter gives the full title as 'Éliza ou Le voyage aux glaciers du Mont Saint-Bernard' but unusually lists a series of alternatives ("Éliza", "Élisa ou Le voyage au Mont-Bernard", "Éliza ou Le Mont-Bernard", and "Éliza ou Le Mont Saint-Bernard"). Operone is confused between Eliza and Elisa. (Grove doesn't have an article on this work.)

This has been discussed at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Opera. Basil Deane (in his monograph on Cherubini and in the article in Viking) and David Charlton (in The Oxford Illustrated History of Opera) give the title as Eliza. So does Del Teatro. Apparently, the article in New Grove Opera has it as Elisa. None of the above use accents. The full title is Eliza/Elisa ou Le voyage aux glaciers du Mont Saint-Bernard. Since the sources I used to write this article called it Eliza, that's the title. --Folantin (talk) 09:00, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
