Order of marriages[edit]

@Cassiethecat800: Thanks for creating this article from my redirect! Contrary to the new text, the cited reference indicates that Augustus Holly was her second husband, and Lockerby came first. That makes sense, at least because her last name was Holly when she died. Lwarrenwiki (talk) 02:41, 20 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Samuel Lockerby[edit]

The speculation that Eliza had previously been married to a Samuel Lockerby has been removed from the article. Lockerby has not been discussed at all by reliable sources, and the information is clearly incorrect. The error is limited to genealogy databases (such as Samuel Lockerby at geni.com). With a bit of digging, I found the apparent reason for this confusion: Samuel Lockerby married a completely different woman named Eliza Hamilton, daughter of Walter Hamilton, at around the same time. Thank you! I've been working on the genealogy of the Hamilton family and this was driving me crazy since I could find no actual sources for such a marriage, but kept running across lists of 4 children of Eliza Hamilton & Samuel Lockerby while simultaneously seeing it noted that Eliza had no children. There is a similar issue with a baptism record for an "Elizabeth Hamilton, daughter of Alexander and Eliza Hamilton" in 1766 in Pennsylvania--from the birth year obviously not Eliza Hamilton Holly, yet I see it attached to her repeatedly.
