No portrait?

[edit]

Can no one add a likeness of this remarkable woman? Butler was surely gifted in his choice of bride. Fergananim 19:16, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Defense of Rorke's Drift

[edit]

Is this painting by Alphonse-Marie-Adolphe de Neuville as written there (and elsewhere) or by Elizabeth Butler as claimed here and elsewhere on the 'net ? I tried to check JSTOR and found an article talking about "The Defense of Rorke's Drift, January 22nd, 1889" by Lady Butler. I'm assuming it's this one but could someone please confirm ? If there is a mistake many pages that use this pic will have to be corrected. --Alþykkr (talk) 22:31, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, found my own answer (apparently). There are two "The Defense of Rorke's Drift" paintings, one by Butler and one by Neuville, and this one is by Neuville. The Elizabeth Butler article shows the wrong one (by Neuville), so I'm removing it until the correct painting (by Butler) can be linked here.--Alþykkr (talk) 22:44, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Replaced previous version of the painting with the correct one. --Alþykkr (talk) 23:37, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
