[edit]

If this page plans initially to provide a list of notable writers, first of all it needs to categorise them under genres. Obviously 'Drama/Dramatists' and 'Poetry/Poets' will form two. I suggest you also put 'Novel or Novelists' as another (think of Thomas Nashe, for example), and 'Religious writings' or 'Political' or 'Other notable Misc. writers' as one for other categories of non-fictional literature.

Other than that, it could be that the scope aimed for with this article is a little too broad, and so ought to serve as a directory or large disambiguation page.

English renaissance literature

[edit]

As there is no article on Jacobean literature (redirects to English literature), it might make sense to change the title of this article to English renaissance literature, especially given that Shakespeare's career overlaps these two periods. The British literature page for Jacobean literature is too detailed, so that it could be copied here, and the original then made more succinct. Any objections? I now realise that it would probably be better to move the excess detail in British literature to English drama and English poetry. Rwood128 (talk) 13:40, 22 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
