Photograph[edit]

The user with IP-Number 72.241.93.141 has been trying to fit in a photograph. It is a link to another website. Doesn't work, so I deleted it. Panmaker (talk) 08:50, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you read this article, and you find faults, please correct them. If you are of the opinion that something terribly important is missing, please include it. Just do it from the point of view which Dr. Mannette always has: "For the betterment of Steel Pan, not for personal benefit." --Panmaker (talk) 20:43, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Elliot or Elliott?[edit]

There doesn't seem to be any consistency with the spelling of his first name by sources. Why? I Ask (talk) 07:09, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's Elliott (with two Ts). One of the existing refs had a typo within the citation (verified in source), and I added a ref from his New York Times obituary that confirmed his full name and spelling. Also, the US Library of Congress name authority file shows his first name spelled as Elliott. NOLA1982 (talk) 17:07, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@NOLA1982: I'm still not too sure about that, and here is a small collection of some other sources that use "Elliot". [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6]. Why? I Ask (talk) 04:37, 18 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not gonna argue this any further. NOLA1982 (talk) 04:58, 18 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@NOLA1982: That's fine, but if there is a variation of his name, then do you have any guidance on how that could be added to his page? (More sources; [7], [8], [9], [10].) (Note that these sources aren't necessarily to convince you, but rather to serve as supporting evidence for a third party's input.) Why? I Ask (talk) 05:08, 18 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Why? I Ask: I don't have any personal experience with adding notes for a name spelling variation, but a while back I added an endnote to the birth date of Darlene Love because reliable sources differed. Perhaps you could use that as a model? NOLA1982 (talk) 19:10, 18 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
