Hello, Just to let you know that I, Rikstar, am also responsible for additions and corrections made by 62.136.54.181. A lot of them I know, but I hope you think they are objective and suitably expand this article.

I am about to change 'Elvis' to 'Presley' throughout to meet wiki convention re: names Rikstar 05:02, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Origin of "Comeback Special" title

[edit]

I'd like to see more information on how and when this became known as the "Comeback Special," particularly because it was not the official title of the broadcast but is the title of the article. I wonder if it wouldn't be appropriate to retitle the article "Elvis (1968 television special)" with a redirect from "Elvis Presley's '68 Comeback Special"? Isn't it called "Singer Pesents Elvis?" The Davison Library (talk) 22:02, 4 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming article

[edit]

Per WP:COMMONNAME, this article should be called The '68 Comeback Special. It is almost *never* referred to by the article's current name, even if it is the original one. 128.151.71.16 (talk) 12:55, 17 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, '68 Comeback Special is the name which the show came later to be known as. The introduction pretty much clarifies that it is known as such. All of the 1968 publicity surrounding the show uses the original name. It is also not the only show in the Singer Presents... series (check for example, Singer Presents...Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass).--GDuwenTell me! 20:15, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Singer Presents...ElvisElvis (1968 TV program) – This request is to undo an undiscussed move and reinstate the long-standing title of this article, which was used from July 2009 to Jan 2018. This special has come to be informally and inconstently known by several other names such as "Elvis Presley's '68 Comeback Special", "Elvis NBC TV Special", and other variations, but the title at the time was simply "Elvis" under the "Singer Presents..." sponsor umbrella title used for a series of specials around that time. This move provides the least confusing title option. -- Netoholic @ 18:20, 9 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
