Email Marketing Automation: Email marketing automation helps you speak to your audience at a very personal level. Instead of throwing the same copy of an email to everyone in your list, email marketing automation is about understanding customer behaviour and sending offers and content which they might be more interested in.

In order to succeed with email marketing automation, one needs to know their customer better and collect as much as possible information about them. Sending an automated email with an offer containing a special birthday gift to a particular customer would require you to collect their date of birth.

In particular, to an eCommerce store, there could be varied such events which can be automated like cart abandonment, browse abandonment, new customer thank you note, cross-sell, repeat buyer special thank you note, a welcome sequence to signup email, win back automation, special birthday discount etc. Tejpal007 (talk) 07:03, 11 January 2019 (UTC)

No thank you. I've removed the link to the promotional blog entry. This is written like a pitch and will need reliable sources. Kuru (talk) 12:06, 11 January 2019 (UTC)

GDPR 2018

Europe enacted GDPR which completely changed the email marketing industry... surprised there is no mention on the page Marktaree (talk) 11:53, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

Good point. I've now added a small note about this - perhaps you could expand? - Snori (talk) 21:28, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

The title should be "Email Marketing in the United States", as it refers to stats in one of the sections and compares it to "other countries", namely Australia, Canada etc, making it implicit that the primary country of focus in this article is the USA. 209.89.72.132 (talk) 22:27, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Not done: This literally only happens once in the article. That doesn't mean the primary topic of the whole article is about the U.S. Saucy[talkcontribs] 08:22, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. NiciVampireHeart 11:20, 8 October 2019 (UTC)
