The chancery, located at Calle Zapiola 1701 in northern Buenos Aires

  • Some of the text in the last section of this article feels like it'd be more appropriate in Argentina–Philippines relations, but even were that text removed from this article, it would not impact the DYK criteria. The article is new enough, long enough, well cited, neutral, and appears free of plagiarism. The hook short enough, AGF on the citations because I don't read Spanish, and while it's not the most interesting one I've read, it's probably the best we can expect with the subject matter. A QPQ is present. I've added a tag to the image about the not 100% clear status of photos of buildings in Argentina, but Commons considers the image freely licensed, and it's used in the article, so this is good to go. • The problem with the one sentence that requires citation is that the only citation I can use is a personal blog which tracks down all the buildings designed by said architect. This link is also indicated on the Spanish Wikipedia article for the architect, and for some reason there doesn't seem to be anything about the building that would meet the traditional definition of WP:RS, so I wonder if citing that blog would be acceptable given the dearth of sources. (As for the request, it's fine: the date was more shoot-for-the-moon, but I'll keep that in mind, although waiting would mean I'm over the required one week for nominating it, yes?) --Sky Harbor (talk) 00:37, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Sky Harbor: we often use primary refs just to verify personal information, so I don't see why you can't add this blogspot. Alternately, you could comment out the sentence until after the main page appearance.
  • I don't understand your last sentence in your post. You nominated this on June 18 and asked for a run date of August 21, nine weeks hence. You could ask other editors for consensus to IAR at WT:DYK. However, the image is too dark at thumbnail size to be used in the image slot. Regarding future special occasion hooks, I was just suggesting that you nominate 6 weeks in advance, then post a notice at WT:DYK asking for a speedy review so it will run on the anniversary. Thanks, Yoninah (talk) 12:59, 1 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Noted. I'll very likely cite the blog to resolve that missing citation, although if the six-week rule is not as strict as you imply it is, I'll make sure to keep that in mind for any future DYK nominations that may involve anniversaries. --Sky Harbor (talk) 03:50, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • We need to move on this already. I commented out the "citation needed" line until after the main page appearance, or until you find a cite. Restoring tick per The Squirrel Conspiracy's review. Yoninah (talk) 08:56, 7 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Embassy moved to a new and permanent chancery

[edit]

The embassy recently (last May) moved to a new and permanent chancery. See this article from the embassy "Philippine Embassy in Argentina Inaugurates New Chancery" and from the DFA. howdy.carabao 🌱🐃🌱 (talk) 13:00, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

An update on this from my end: the Embassy updated the page (the edits were made by the mission's chargé d'affaires, judging from the username), but much of the old article was cut. I cleaned it up so we should be back on track. --Sky Harbor (talk) 00:14, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
