Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Level "Emerald Hill"
[edit]I'm not sure if it's worth adding to this article, but it's worth noting that the first level of the video game Sonic The Hedgehog 2 is called "Emerald Hills", which apparently was named after this town. Specifically, SEGA's headquarters is in San Francisco, and during the development of Sonic 2, saw the name of the city and used it in the game.
- "Visually speaking, through all three games, we always start with an island. At the time, we were developing in San Francisco, and south of there was a town(?) called Emerald Hill. We were doing a location test at a shopping center there when we saw it, and since it was a Green Hill-like name we thought well, let's use it in the game!" — Yuji Naka, Sonic Jam Strategy Guide
I guess I might add it myself if I felt inclined. -- 76.14.41.92 (talk) 22:34, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
