History?

[edit]

History begins by talking about history in America. Bizarre... I was looking for the history of this topic in terms of human culture, and not one particular country. Just goes to show how self-absorbed Americans are.

To creator of article:

[edit]

As someone with history in emergency response, I just wanted to express my appreciation for the attention that is being brought to this long-neglected topic. I hope my additions are helpful to the article, please let me know if I can help further... I'll continue to add more, when I find the time. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1stResponderGuru (talkcontribs) 18:57, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I was hoping someone would be able to add to that section! One word of friendly advice, though? There is a video-cite template that you can use for that one citation with the George Bittles video... that might fit better, if you can find it?

File:Computer Pop-Up Message.png Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:Computer Pop-Up Message.png, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

To take part in any discussion, or to review a more detailed deletion rationale please visit the relevant image page (File:Computer Pop-Up Message.png)

Aurora shooting?

[edit]

I noticed quite a bit about the shooting already in this article. I just wanted you to know that I've opened a new section on the 2012 Aurora shooting article, in case you wanted to relate any material. I was able to come across some pretty good sources from within the security and public-safety realm. So if you want to expand this article, feel free to use them. I would help myself, but I think the current version of this article is very good, so I don't want to step on toes!--1stResponderGuru (talk) 17:26, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can be incorporated into giant voice

[edit]
  • [1] (Washington Post)
  • [3] (northiowatoday.com)
  • [4] (google books - a blurb about it)
  • [5] (dodlive.mil)
  • [6] (PDF - army.mil)
  • [7] (af.mil)
  • [8] (fema.gov)
  • [9] - Defense Logistics Agency (aviation.dla.mil).

Government entries are noted, and very easy to come by, so this text is public domain and can be incorporated into the article. Navy also have information related to Wide Area Alert Network[10] (navy.mil) which can also be mined for content. -- dsprc [talk] 04:16, 11 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
