Removal of references, and request for further citations

[edit]

58.107.60.22 has added the following lines, which I have left.

A number of ex-students strongly believe that this is due to inadequate funding into co-curricular subjects rather than core curriculum subjects. In addition, there has been a large number of unnecessary Sports/Physical Education teachers.

I have removed the reference for these statements which was:

Duxs' of St Pauls College 2003 - Mahmoud Arakji, Roger Lee, Sam Luu, Ian Penano, Michael Nguyen, Edwin Engua, Paul Huynh, Chris Lai, Gene Venebales and Truong Pham

Unfortunately, this is not considered a verifiable source, due to the lack of persistence (i.e. it is not a written source). I have added a citation needed tag. -postglock 01:11, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the references, I see another edit was made by 58.107.60.22, quoting the source as the

past Duxs' of St Pauls College magazine

What exactly is this? Have you a copy personally? Is this a dated annual release, and if so, what date is it? Exactly which "ex-students strongly believe" the claims posted? I have reverted the article for now, but please don't take offence to this. If you have further information for the reference, and if you could also clarify whose opinion exactly you are quoting, please feel free to edit the page further. Please reply to this message here. -postglock 13:11, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

G'day,

Yes you are correct it is not a written source. But I believe it has a strong substance as we were previous students in St Pauls for 5-6 years. However, I feel comfortable with your action by putting it a 'citation needed' tag. Postglock, sorry about the 'past Dux of St College magazine', it wasn't a intentional thing I did, I'm not used to editting in wikipedia and thought it took my source out so I decided to test it out. Cheers,

Fair use rationale for Image:College logo1.png

[edit]

Image:College logo1.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

WikiProject class rating

This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as start, and the rating on other projects was brought up to start class. BetacommandBot 10:38, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The image Image:Emmanuel College Emblem.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
