Great, but the Joe Foss article is a better model to use to structure the article than is the Gabreski article. List of victories, awards, etc. are essentially appendices and should go after all of the main body. Also, please add at least one citation per paragraph. The article also needs footnotes to support the article content since it currently has no citations to any reliable sources. It would be best if these were citations to sources independent of the subject and not user-generated content such as blogs, personal websites, etc. All quotes need to be properly supported to a citation ot a reliable source per MOS:QUOTE or they should be removed. Anything not supported by a citation to a reliable source may be removed per WP:UNSOURCED.

Format-wise, I think the blank section should be removed until there's content for them or at the least tagged with Template:Expand section; also, the images for the military awards should probably be removed from the infobox and the decorations listed should be trimmed to perhaps just the major ones. The rest can be included in the article itself. Finally, I think the external links needs to be trimmed and some of these could actually be converted to references. Care also has to be taken to make sure the YouTube uploads are not links to videos which might be copyright violations per WP:COPYLINK. Only external links to official YouTube channels whose copyright status is not in doubt should be added and only if they do not fall under WP:ELNO. -- Marchjuly (talk) 23:59, 17 December 2016 (UTC)

Marchjuly, I'm glad you agree with me about the changes I'm working on. Regarding the YouTube link that you removed, how should evidence of copyright be shown? The original footage was provided by the National Archives and, to my understanding, is PD. That means that Summer Mull holds the copyright to the new work published on YouTube. I wouldn't go as far to say I agree or disagree with the changes you are working on. All I suggest is to keep being WP:BOLD and if by channce another editor reverts/improves upon any of your edits, then to discuss them per WP:BRD if you disagree or have any questions. As for the YouTube link, I'm pretty sure you cannot claim copyright over something you do not originally own by simply uploading it somewhere else, unless you have created a derivative work in some way. The original raw footage may be from the mechanical archives, but it's not clear if that upload was then taken from somewhere else (for example, from part of some other TV program, etc.) or a derivative work of the YouTube uploader. Simply mechanically reproducing something taken from somewhere/someone else into another format is not something usually eligible for new copyright and not something that cancels out an existing copyright. However, you can ask for other opinions about this at WP:MCQ and WP:ELN. Personally, I think there are probably too many external links in the article and what is needed are more inline citations to reliable sources. It is possible to cite some of the video links, etc. you added if they qualify as a reliable source per WP:SAYWHEREYOUREADIT even if they are not available online. The members of WikiProject Military History have a pretty good feel for these types of articles and they probably can offer lots of good advice. Cyclone's father

I've been unable to sign onto my Wikipedia account for years--got no responses and gave up trying but still like to contribute when possible.

Article says Col. Davis' father served with the Rough Riders in 1898. I found a Salt Lake obit on the colonel giving his father's name as John Henry Davis but this roster of RR personnel does not list a Davis of that name. http://www.spanamwar.com/rrroster.htm

I'm not trying to change the text because I cannot prove that the RR claim is inaccurate, but it does appear "iffy."

However, I did change the text describing Col. Davis as a fighter ace. USAF Historical Study 85 shows him with three aerial victories, not five.
