Redirect straight to the Empire state building[edit]

Why not simply redirect this page to the empire state building and perhaps keep this page as a disambiguation page? The empire state building is certainly the most usage of this phrase.

Because the real real most used meaning of the phrase is as the nickname of the state of NY. Nobody says "I work at the Empire State". They say "I work at the Empire State Building". People from Albany would think first and foremost of the Empire State Plaza if you said "I work at the Empire State". Most people around the nation would probably think it was the name of a company, not having the building on the top of their mind (Iowans I assume think mostly about corn, not tall buildings?).Camelbinky (talk) 01:53, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
