Behavioral Ecology Class Project

Hi! For my Behavioral Ecology class, I contributed to the E. borealis Wikipedia page. I expanded on the Overview section, as well as added sections for Description, Distribution, Food resources, and Mating, which also has several sub-headings. A great start for an introduction to Empis borealis. The headings and subheadings that you added continued to build up the background information that surrounded the fly. Some suggestions that I would make is to continue to add to your current headings to make them fuller, and then include other headings such as Habitat or Human Interaction. Hi, great job on your article so far. The main changes I made were for sentence structure and verb tense. I also reworded some sentences to eliminate colons and hypotheses to better reflect Wikipedia writing style. Some phrases required elimination in order to improve clarity or eliminate redundancies within the article. This included the repeated use of "throughout the day" in Swarm Sites, as well as the "number of females" in Swarming. The latter may be a misunderstanding on my part, so please double check that the new sentence "...aggregation of females..." reflects your research. I also added the internal link for fidelity and a citation for the first paragraph of the lead section. Overall, I think some sections could use further elaboration, but this is a great start! Hi! You have done a great job on this article. I really liked that you had several images to the article as well as how you structured it. I made a couple of small changes such as adding a hyperlink to nuptial gifts in the leading section that pertained to courtship behavior. In terms of expanding on certain topics, I was wondering if you found specific examples of the plants and insects they feed on. Not only would this add to your section, but it also gives the opportunity to place more hyperlinks and potential to link in. In your swarming section, you may also want to combine the sentence on what counts toward the total number of females swarming to make it a bit more concise.
