Merge with Consumer?[edit]

Oppose. I think that the concept of end user differs significantly from consumer, though they may be the same person in many (not all) cases. I won't go into long arguments; there seems to be very little interest in this discussion. Pol098 (talk) 16:47, 26 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Agreed. "Consumer" is someone who buys products for themselves or their relatives; while an end-user of a product may be a employee at a company, far removed from the one doing the purchase. I've removed the tags since nobody has argued for the merge since february. Diego (talk) 18:25, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Break out the Trade / Export Control related stuff?[edit]

"End User" in the context of export control or an End User Undertaking isn't so related to the other definitions here. E.g. an End User could be a manufacturer who incorporates the controlled item into some other product or assembly. Any objections to breaking out this content? Perhaps even putting that definition within export control? Chumpih. (talk) 23:01, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
