Perhaps it would make sense to add that, name notwithstanding, these products are not gels at all, but solutions. 93.103.96.231 (talk) 18:38, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I followed one of the links, and some of the content in this article is plagiarized from that link. (http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-242-301--5956-2-1X2X3-4,00.html) Selena (talk) 17:44, 26 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Advantages?[edit]

The article could stand to have some discussion added regarding perceived advantages of gels over other things. For example, what makes a gel better than biting into an energy bar, or drinking something? Is the gel format a way to get the necessary energy into the body quicker, or is it more a logistics issue (i.e. it's easier to squeeze a tube of goo into your mouth while running than having to slow down to deal with a water/gatorade bottle or unwrapping a chocolate bar). 68.146.233.86 (talk) 21:57, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
