Cleanup

This article needs to be cleaned up by someone who both understands the history and who can write in English. This seems like an important topic, but I can't make heads or tails of it, as badly as it is written. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.17.75.229 (talk) 01:33, 5 June 2013 (UTC)

It also basically ignores everything other than the "official" course of the trial; ie, it ignores the irregularities, blatantly forged evidence, etc. 174.138.207.21 (talk) 22:30, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
It's enormously hard to make head or tail of. The points made by Dani Rodrik (see links in Çetin Doğan) would be a start. Podiaebba (talk) 11:32, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

I am confused about some conflicting information. While in this section, the Turkish Council of State shooting is represented as part of the Ergenekon trials, in the actual article on the shooting the following is said:

"On 13 February 2008, Alparslan Arslan and Osman Yıldırım were sentenced to life imprisonment without parole. The detailed ruling by Ankara's 11th High Criminal Court stated that no connection to Ergenekon was found." Can anybody clarify? Thanks! --Nil-su (talk) 11:21, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

This whole thing needs (more) cleaning up. Alparslan Arslan has a bit more detail which helps explain the contradiction (Yildirim confessed it was JITEM, but somehow this didn't make it into the court conclusions). Podiaebba (talk) 14:00, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

Merge discussion

I propose that Ergenekon (organization) be merged into Ergenekon trials. I think that the content in the Ergenekon (organization) article can easily be explained in the context of Ergenekon trials, and the Ergenekon trials article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Ergenekon (organization) will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. Ergenekon (organization) in its current form covers an alleged clandestine organization where all information on it is part of the Ergenekon trials. -- A Certain White Cat chi? 04:02, 11 August 2013 (UTC)

The Ergenekon (organization) is being mentioned in sources independtly from the trials, so no need to merge. --FocalPoint (talk) 08:16, 23 July 2016 (UTC)

Final verdict

On July, 2019 The Istanbul 4th High Criminal Court acquitted all defendants in all cases brought on charges of "establishing, directing, membership, aiding and abetting", since there is no organization under the name "Ergenekon organization". 2601:243:303:1570:0:0:0:15FB (talk) 15:11, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
