This is not the same Eric Carter - the Kansas State representative, who links to this page in error, was born in 1972, not 1970 and is not the motorcross athlete. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.172.196.101 (talk) 19:38, June 14, 2006

Weight

[edit]

The box on the right says:

Weight 79.38kg (175 lbs. Imperial)

This looks like somebody simply converted 175lb into kg and put in the result, but the weight given in kg is ridiculously over-precise... I'm sure we don't know his weight to the nearest 10g, it would fluctuate by more than that over a snack. I'd round it down to 79kg, except that the body of the article says:

Height & weight at height of career (1990): Ht:5'10" Wt:~175-180lbs.

So, maybe it should be given in both places as 175-180lb (79.4-81.6kg) or something like that. While I personally use the metric system, it seems from the numbers given that the weight in pounds is the original data and the other is just a conversion to give some idea of the weight to people who use the metric system, so I think the weight in kilograms should be the one parenthesised. Is there a policy on this? Angelastic 08:26, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stories on nicknames

[edit]
When he got the nichname "The golden child" was it because of how he started out so good at such a young age? Or "Earthquake" Where did that come from? I've always wanted to know, and the rest of the internet doesn't have much info. I'm mostly curious because, (especially when it comes to racing / riding) ever since a little kid, Eric Carter has been my hero, and I have occasionally questioned why he has these nichnames, but now it's of great interest to me, plus I'm about to start writing a paper on him, so this info will help. :P
