TechTV

Could someone link this somehow to TechTV's information, I had to IMDB ZDTVnews (1998) to find her. --x1987x 01:15, 9 October 2005 (UTC)

Pregnant?

There have been rumors circulating that she's pregnant. Does anybody have any info on this? Mysticfeline 03:45, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Good grief. Do any of you actually watch Prime News? Either way, seeing as how there aren't any websites that keep a list of pregnant news anchors, those "rumors" must be false. :D </sarcasm> *Waves to Huntster* Lmz00 21:09, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Waves back* ;) Seriously though, I work during the broadcast so I cannot verify pregnancy or no. The problem with the "(and pregnant)" bit is that there is nothing included to act as a kind of source. Now, I understand it's hard to cite the program as a whole, but if she really is pregnant, you could put something such as "Hill appears to have become pregnant, as can be witnessed during her television program" (though, word it better please). Include *something* to back up the statement. Kind of ironic, my workplace has the internet but no televisions. Sigh. -- Huntster T@C 22:11, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Sucks. :( Well, I updated it. I hope it's to your liking. jk :P Lmz00 02:55, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes, that looks quite good! I've added the cite needed tag so people will keep an eye out for any publications which confirm this. -- Huntster T@C 05:13, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

Yes, she is pregnant and expecting in mid november. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.54.79.177 (talkcontribs) 14:38, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Do you have anything to cite that with? aka, where was that revealed? -- Huntster T@C 08:07, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Source is her husband and the father . . . —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hoops87 (talkcontribs) 10:20, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

No, I mean, is there any source that can be cited, aka, a newspaper or magazine or reputable website, etc. Word of mouth does not qualify. -- Huntster T@C 21:53, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

I understand, but I am the husband and the father to be - seems to be a bit more than word of mouth but if you really need a link, here is a recent article: http://www2.townonline.com/somerville/entertainment/view.bg?articleid=581398 —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hoops87 (talkcontribs) 08:19, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Excellent, thank you for the article. I'll make the appropriate changes and citation. Please understand that requesting a source isn't an affront. We have no way to verify who you are, and so the written word from reputable sources is needed to back that up. This site desires to present encyclopaedic articles with verifiable information. Though, if you are the husband, then congratulations on this event! I'll still ask for a written source when the happy day arrives ;) -- Huntster T@C 14:17, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Anderson Cooper 360

i just started watching AC360 about a week ago and thought that it was awesome that one of my favorite news anchors, Erica Hill, was doing the news updates. This article says she was replaced but has she come back or is she just filling in? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.15.89.210 (talk) 05:57, 10 April 2007 (UTC).

Change of venue

I added the change of venue subsection. Can someone put more precise/accurate information in there? I watched the last episode on Headline News, but it just seems to need more information than I have. Sallicio (talk) 00:04, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Sallicio

CBS's The Early Show

I saw her on CBS's The Early Show today. She was one of the main two anchors of the show. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sp0 (talkcontribs) 12:59, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Heritage

Is she mixed with asian blood? I often think so.

No, she's not mixed with Asian blood.

what do u mean no? she does, she's either part Asian, Latino or Native-American...

What I mean is no, her ancestry does not include Asian, Latino, or Native-American. I know her family, trust me on this.

Wow, it's hard to believe/trust u on that!!! To me she looks a little asian/latino/or native... maybe it's very distant or something... so does Dog Chapman's son Leland, but everyone disagrees with me on that one also... I dunno it's possible she's all white and looks a little asian...

It's more than possible that she has no asian heritage. There is such a wide variety of exotic Caucasian phenomes originating in Europe...I know plenty of folks who have similar appearances. Very attractive, in my opinion.
Also, I would remind everyone to please sign their comments using ~~~~. Thanks! -- Huntster T@C 23:19, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
It's also more than possible that she has "some" asian or amerindian heritage in her despite her family's non-inclusion of that heritage in their family tree. MIllions of Caucasians living in the Americas today have native ancestry, but they have not connection to their distant roots because for whatever reason it was never carried down as a basis of heritage. On a similar note, millions of Eurpeans of non-Anglecized origin (meaning descent from Colonial British settlers) adopted or changed their surnames to more English-sounding names completely erasing any hints of their "Old World" heritage while immersing themselves into the contemporary American Identity at the time. I don't buy your assertion that she's a Caucasian with "exotic" Caucasoidal phenomes originating in Europe. Sounds neat, but it rings false.--68.164.86.74 22:17, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
You may be right, and my statement was of course just speculation. I doubt we'll ever know for sure. In the meantime, just sit back and enjoy! Though, who knows how long she'll put up with that arse Glenn Beck ;) -- Huntster T@C 22:41, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Erica Hill was doing an A.C. 360 story following the 2008 presidential election about the Obamas intending to adopt a hypoallergenic dog. She mentioned that many mutts fall into that category and that the dog she was holding "is a mutt like me". That is why I was led here to make this entry. I think she has either Asian or Latino heritage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jokoolone (talkcontribs) 16:24, 20 November 2008

Why are so many Wikipedians OBSESSED with race? Any public figure who is not ostensibly WASPy or Northern European looking inevitably draws the race obsessed hordes to ask in awkward fascination “what is their ethnic background?”. I suspect most of the culprits are western culture whites who fancy themselves 'anti-racists', though I suppose they can be of any race; the irony is that with their perverse, divisive obsession with race and ethnicity, they are every bit as racist as any colonial era European. Not everyone looks Dutch or English; it's really not that important. If this P.C. generation were around 35 years ago, there'd doubtless be anxious wikipedians desperate to know if Mary Tyler Moore or Victoria Principal were perhaps 'part Latino or Asian'; after all, they're both vaguely ethnic looking. This pre-occupation with race and ethnicity by so many wikipedians is really disturbing and divisive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.126.161.173 (talk) 04:04, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

I don't disagree, though I don't really consider it quite so big a deal. Just a matter of being patient, and trying to emphasize the lack of importance to the article. Huntster (t@c) 05:12, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
This is just speculation on my part but Erica looks like she may have some distant Dutch Indonesian ancestry. She's from New England and many older generation Whites from that region may have distant native ancestry from that region or from other parts of the world where the English, Dutch, and French were colonized. I mentioned Dutch Indonesia because I know a gal who could pass as Erica's twin. Just a thought--173.60.51.236 (talk) 01:24, 5 January 2016 (UTC)

Change in personal status?

Her online blogs at AC360 regarding her relocation to New York mentioned her son and mother but no indication of her husband. Just to make sure this article is up to date, has there been a change in her marital status? Obviously the addition of any such information needs a source to be WP:BLP-compliant. 68.146.41.232 (talk) 00:15, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

I've neither heard nor seen anything indication of a change, but that doesn't mean much. I suppose eyes need to be kept open for any such news. Thankfully, in the context of the article, it isn't a tremendous issue. Huntster (t@c) 18:32, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Can't you get your own intro Do you have to steal Mary Tyler Moore's. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.64.3.30 (talk) 20:47, 4 November 2016 (UTC)
