Redirect for "Eric Morillo"

[edit]

Can someone make a redirect page for that spelling? This was not high in search results. --170.215.130.226 (talk) 02:12, 15 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Jazz It Up"

[edit]

It says in the article that whilst trying to distance himself from Reel to Real, he created the above song which he released under the name "The Erick Morillo Project". Is this a totally different song to the one that was a huge hit for Reel to Real then or am I missing something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.239.248.191 (talk) 02:17, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

June 2013 events

[edit]

Recently, Morillo missed an event in Long Island. He also stopped performing after 45 minutes in Massachusetts and had a loop play over and over, he was escorted out by security, and in Glasgow he was charged with cocaine possession before charges were removed. Should this info be added to a 'personal life' heading? Sources: http://pulseradio.net/articles/2013/06/erick-morillo-escorted-off-stage-by-security-45-minutes-into-boston-set and http://www.mixmag.net/words/news/erick-morillo-takes-a-break-to-focus-on-health-after-erratic-behaviourStopde (talk) 10:10, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've added the material about the recent events. As for the dropped cocaine possession charges, I've wondered if I should add it, because they were dropped, so I'm going to ask editors at WP:BLP, just to see what they think. If they approve its addition, I'll add it. Nightscream (talk) 15:00, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I read the discussion and the consensus seems to be to leave it out, which is fine with me. I noticed you are quite the fan of Erick, updating a lot over the past year, are you able to track down his birthday, such as asking him on Twitter or something like that, because it would be a nice personal touch to know if it's March 18th or some other day out of the year. That way fans of his could celebrate with him, to give him some encouragement and love, which could be beneficial for him this year. Stopde (talk) 19:32, 24 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I don't listen much to his type of music (though I don't dislike it). My interest in the article is derived from the fact that he and I were acquaintances when we went to grade school together (he was a year ahead of me, and was on the soccer team when my father coached it). That's why I wanted to solicit objective opinions regarding the cocaine matter.

I did a Google search for his birthday but didn't find anything reliable. Even AllMusic doesn't have the exact date, only the year. I don't have a Twitter account, and have no interest in signing up for one, but if someone else here with a Twitter account wants to do so, it's not a bad idea, since Erick's Twitter is indeed a verified one. Orientation

[edit]

Should a header at the bottom of the page state that he is a LGBT/Gay DJ? This is a source: http://www.discomusic.com/forums/showthread.php/13138-Famous-Gay-DJs however I am not sure if one source alone would merit this. If it IS true, he could be seen as a role model for the LGBT community. Stopde (talk) 17:14, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

That is not a reliable source. It's just a message board where anyone can post. The person posting, who calls themselves "Marcio", is not a credentialed authority or expert in any pertinent field, and does not provide any evidence or explanation to back up his claim. Please see WP:USERG, which is part of Wikipedia's Reliable Sources policy. Nightscream (talk) 01:38, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nationality

[edit]

The lede describes him as Colombian, but the short description and first paragraph in early life indicate that he's American. Which is right? I have no opinion, but they should presumably be consistent. AleatoryPonderings (talk) 04:03, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I see no indication he became a Colombian in the references near his time there, though most are dead or offline. Could be true. Amended lead pending clear source. InedibleHulk (talk) 17:41, 2 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Possible cause of death

[edit]

According to these two articles, they say that his cause of death might have been a possible drug overdose.
