Untitled[edit]

I'm compiling the page about Erkki Ruuhinen. We have just finished the Finnish version of it here.

Please give some time for me to adjust to this English version of Wikipedia, and get the info in place. Seniordesigner (talk) 12:50, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The reason why the contents of this Wikipedia page is identical with the text on International Exhibition of Calligraphy biography -page is, because the text on it is written and sent by me. I hope this "clears the air" about the origin of the text and it being a violation of copyrights. Seniordesigner (talk) 13:00, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This page contained photographs which were deleted (by user: Masur) as being "a violation to copyrights". We own the copyrights of the images that were deleted. Copyrights belong to: Erkki Ruuhinen / Erkki Ruuhinen Design. Seniordesigner (talk) 14:15, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please see wp:copyvio and wp:copyrights for information for the proper procedure to follow for copyright permission. Simply saying that you own the copyright is never enough. And promotional bio pages ("known as a versatile designer", "uncompromising and determined striving for aesthetic quality,") are almost never appropriate as encyclopedia entries. The page has been edited to match with the one found on Finnish Wikipedia. Seniordesigner (talk) 12:35, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, and, if allowed under fair use, may copy sentences and phrases, provided they are included in quotation marks and referenced properly. The material may also be rewritten, provided it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Therefore, such paraphrased portions must provide their source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 11:13, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This is in fact a double violation, as the text on the website (which the contributor @Seniordesigner apparently owns) is copied from the book Taiteen huipulta / The Apex of the Arts / 1997. Jähmefyysikko (talk) 11:27, 22 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
