The result of the move request was: Move to Ernest Ward (English rugby league player), a few people though league was important and there was a general consensus to move to anything, so picking an option which I hope will be acceptable to all. Salix (talk): 22:26, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
Ernest Ward (rugby league born 19c) → Ernest Ward (Early 20th century rugby player) – Or, as an alternative perhaps: Ernest Ward (Rugby player for Halifax and England). When it comes to disambiguation with the other (somewhat more notable) rugby player named Ernest Ward, when each played and which teams they played for is more important that when they were born. Both of my suggestions would do a better job of directing readers to the correct article. Relisted. Jafeluv (talk) 06:51, 13 June 2013 (UTC) Blueboar (talk) 21:54, 3 June 2013 (UTC)

- Support moving - I don't even care what the new title is; nothing could be worse than the current "(rugby league born 19c)" disambiguator. What is 19c anyway? Who's going to type that in? Will it mean anything to readers who see it at the top of the page?bobrayner (talk) 01:01, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Any additional comments:
- Comment: neither "early" nor "rugby" are proper nouns, so there should be no such capitalization in the disambiguator. HandsomeFella (talk) 12:17, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
- The least bad option could be "Ernest Ward (Halifax rugby player)". PatGallacher (talk) 21:09, 8 June 2013 (UTC)
- To differentiate between the rugby codes, any move should include "rugby league", and not just "rugby", e.g. "Ernest Ward (rugby league Halifax)". Best Regards. DynamoDegsy (talk) 08:19, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
- Why not Ernest Ward (English rugby player)? Yeah, the Welsh guy played for an England team, but he's primarily Welsh. It's right there in the lede. We can always include a hatnote here. --BDD (talk) 04:39, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
- Ernest Ward (English rugby league)? Rugby league players tend to have just (Rugby league) and not (Rugby league player) as the disambiguation. Mattlore (talk) 12:09, 24 June 2013 (UTC)
- Use Ernest Ward (English rugby league player) or Ernest Ward (English rugby player) . It makes no sense for rugby league to be different from all other sports -- 65.94.79.6 (talk) 12:29, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
