Torture

[edit]

Why on earth that article was placed in categories such as "Imprisonment and detention", "Concentration camps" and "Human rights abuses" and "Torture"? --Platyna 23:11, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just read the article, in 1973 and 1974 it was used by the militar regime as concetration camp for political prisoners, and there were a lot of abuses to human rights like torture and murder. --Bauta 00:12, 27 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Victor Jara

[edit]

In reading this link, it looks like Jara was never at this stadium. The article starts with him being taken into the other stadium, and then being murdered while most of the others were being taken to this stadium. Is there a reference that says he was at this stadium, as the recent edit implies? Neier 22:23, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move Proposal: Estadio Nacional Prádanos

[edit]

This is the name of the stadium that I saw on the Fox Sports channel, and it seems to be more accurate than "Estadio Nacional de Chile" ("National Stadium of Chile," literary translated to English). Even the article states that the name of the stadium is "Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos," not "Estadio Nacional de Chile." Of course, the name "National Stadium of Chile" is a common name used since it is the national stadium of Chile, but it is not the correct name. If no response is given to this, I will be moving the article tomorrow.--[|!*//MarshalN20\\*!|] (talk) 01:37, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, no, no! So wrong! Prádanos is the subject's second surname. In the Anglo world, he would be just Julio Martínez, thus the stadium's name would be "Julio Martínez National Stadium" but NEVER "Prádanos National Stadium", not even in the Hispanic world. Anyway, Chile's National Stadium has NEVER been called anything other than "Estadio Nacional" in Chile, even after the adding of "Julio Martínez Prádanos" to the name, which is pretty irrelevant. ☆ CieloEstrellado 21:12, 3 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar and Vocabulary

[edit]

edit some grammar --Thinkbeforeyoupost (talk) 19:37, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed. This article is mostly an incomprehensible mess and reads like it was written by a bad translation program of some sort. Someone who has some knowledge of the subject of this article and a grasp of the English language really needs to edit this. MingusMingus (talk) 17:21, 16 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a really strange sentence from the article. "Some were shot on the premises and then taken to unknown locations for execution." It's hard to believe that is correct. Shouldn't "execution" be "disposal" or "burial"? 200.83.84.64 (talk) 13:47, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

We need new pictures of the stadium

[edit]

I think we should get pictures of the stadium after renovation. The article's images are out-of-date. --GuyWithoutAUsername (talk) 02:45, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
