Sindhis

[edit]

How did ethnic population of Sindhies jump one percent from 14% to 15% without any significant event?.. no sindhies moved from india into pakistan, when we know that there are not many Sindhies in India.. was the birth rate of sindhis much higher than the rest of pakistan?... which i doubt 39.47.5.254 (talk) 07:42, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Punjabis

[edit]

I'm a little concerned about the Punjabi section. Apparently Punjabis are an Indo-Aryan ethnicity - therefore how can they be Central Asian? --Maurice45 (talk) 18:13, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non-indigenous

[edit]

Nothing mentioned here about Non-indigenous ethnic groups in Pakistan. --Gaikokujin  talk  18:21, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Non-indigenous ethnic groups in Pakistan would principally be the Mohajir- Urdu speaking peoples who are Muslim refugees from india, Burma and Bangladesh who arrived after 1947. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.63.229.30 (talk) 19:39, 29 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Major work

[edit]

I did a major edit to the bottom sections of this article from the Balochs to the end of the article. Most of this section was and still is unsourced but I was concerned with at least making it readable. As part of this I deleted large slabs of the text that I believe were irrelevant and weren't sourced anyway. I'm sure more work could be done to make it sound better but for now I am going to remove the need for copy edit tag as it sounds much better.Mebored81 (talk) 14:52, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pashtun Percentage

[edit]

Why is pashtun percentage being showed as 15% when Pakistan's own census shows a minimum of 18.5 %.. When in reality if we add non-Pashto speaking Pashtuns in Pakistan.. that number may reach 25%.. in actual Punjabies are 38%, Pashtun 18%, Sindhi 14%, Saraiki 10%, and Baloch around 4%. Also, why is CIA Fact Book given precedent over pakistan's own government. who have actually counted!! 101.50.109.124 (talk) 18:42, 5 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WOW.. Do they know about Pakistani Census 2017??!! 101.50.109.53 (talk) 17:47, 2 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Editor, use 2017 Pakistan Census as a source not the CIA FACTBOOK.

[edit]

I edited this page using the stats from the 2017 Pakistan Census but someone edited it back using the CIA Factbook (which is outdated).

The actual stats can also be found on the Pakistan Languages Wikipedia page.

Punjabis are 38.78% of the population not 44.7%. Pashtuns are 18.24% of the population not 15.2% Sindhis are 15.7% of the population not 15.2%. There are many more corrections needed too.

The CIA Factbook has used outdated data so please use the official 2017 Pakistan Census as a source. MT111222 (talk) 21:30, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
