Attila the Hun

[edit]

according to this ettelbruck is named after attila the hun. i didnt want to actually edit this page, since im not 100% convinced by that. anyone have any more information? Teutanic 19:44, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I really couldn't say if it's correct for sure, but it does seem very likely. Etzel is an alternative (and, historically, the dominant) name for Atilla in German. Presumably, therefore, 'Ettelbruck' refers to the bridge that Attila took across the Sauer on his way to his conquest of Gallia Belgica. More obviously, Attila certainly gives his name to FC Etzella Ettelbruck, the football club from the town. Bastin 02:44, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

La vague sculpture

[edit]

An image of Lucien Wercollier sculpture "La vague" is posted on the Lëtzebuergesch wikipedia page dedicated to that sculpture. I do not know how to post that image onto the English page. The link is: thumb|right|450px|La vague laanscht d'avenue des Alliés (lénks) zu Ettelbréck.

Could someone please post this on the English page? Thank you. User:David A. Victor 17:35, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
