Very basic collection of facts - very little structure

Mistake[edit]

He is not born on october —Preceding unsigned comment added by Zytsef (talkcontribs) 00:41, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wristcutters links[edit]

Seems like the external link to the Wristcutters website is superfluous, since the wikipedia link is provided at first mention and the external link is included in the appropriate section at the bottom of the article. --205.238.220.186 20:29, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To clarify, I'm referring to the external link that's inserted in the article text itself. --205.238.220.186 20:30, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Less about Bordello, more about Hütz[edit]

I think there's way more about Gogol Bordello in here than there should be. This article is about Eugene Hutz. Gogol has it's own page, and anyone who's interested in knowing about it can read that page. Someone needs to go through here and make this a little more Eugene-oriented. If any Gogol-related information in here is not included in the Gogol Bordello article, then please put it in there, instead. I'd do it myself, but I'm really horrible at making article prose flow well, so it'd just end up choppy. So thanks to anyone who does this. Gucci[edit]

I can't see anywhere to put this into the article but in a Guardian story today, it says "at the Gucci menswear show in Milan earlier this week, Hutz was cited as the key inspiration for the collection." Wwwhatsup (talk) 18:58, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps mention it in "Other Projects"? CherryFlavoredAntacid (talk) 22:46, 18 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, it doesn't fit there. It's not a project. He didn't participate. I guess if he starts winning awards for his film work something will open up, but this cite alone is not enough to merit a new section. Wwwhatsup (talk) 00:15, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've added an 'influence' section. Wwwhatsup (talk) 22:51, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not the right band "the fags"[edit]

the link to "the fags" goes to a band from seattle. the band called "the fags" which eugene belonged to was a punk band from burlington, vermont. they had an album called "no fleas, lunch money, and gold teeth" (http://www.amazon.com/Fleas-Lunch-Money-Gold-Teeth/dp/B000E8OT7I) and did some tracks for various local music compilations.

Eugene - is he real or a Borat spinoff that is marketed differently?[edit]

Eugene - is he real or a Borat spinoff that is marketed differently?

I feel that there is very little on Eugene Hutz persona and act that trully connects with the people and the culture he claims to originate from...He might be as much a gypsy or a Ukraninan as the star behind Borat, Sacha Baron is a real Kazahstan... It's an act. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.191.147.114 (talk) 01:23, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

someone removed the references to the fags[edit]

maybe they thought it was vandalism, but he really was in a band called "the fags" in burlington vermont. they were very influential in the burlington music scene in the 1990s so i think it's worth mentioning

Well, first off I'd suggest signing your comments by inserting four tildes (~) at the end. Second, you're welcome to insert pertinent information, but I'd recommend either providing references or expecting the information to be removed either for being unsourced and/or for being suspect vandalism. ethnic background[edit]

Why is his ethnic background given as Roma/Russian only, when even his own profile on band's website states it is Russian/Ukrainian/Roma. Shouldn't it be corrected? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.232.228.193 (talk) 04:13, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hutz is a typical Ukrainian name[edit]

The body of the article states that the Euguene took on his mother's German name? Is the there anything to substantiate this, because as far as I know Hutz is rather typical name in Ukraine from the word "Hutsul" - Ukrainian highlander or "Hutsulushchyna" , "Hutzovina" - a region in Ukraine. There is even wiki article that states hutsul/hutzul is "wanderer" in old Slavic. Sorry I don't know how to link it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mykyta (talkcontribs) 01:39, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
