Eugene Vindman?

[edit]

in his book, Alexander Vindman frequently refers to his brother as Eugene and Eug. This article doesn't even mention that name? 2603:8001:D3F0:87E0:0:0:0:10D0 (talk) 02:48, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yevgeny VindmanEugene Vindman – Colonel Vindman is running for Congress under the name Eugene Vindman (1, 2, 3). An earlier posting — Talk:Yevgeny Vindman#Eugene Vindman?, above — made note of the American form of his given name. Also, since he was born in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, his birth name should be indicated in its Ukrainian form, Evhen Vindman, not in its Russian form, Yevgeny Vindman. — Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 04:13, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, his birth name should not be indicated as Evhen Vindman unless we have sources using it. Google returns nothing aside from this proposed move, the redirect for that name has existed for mere minutes since you created it, and it too is only linked to by this proposed move. I don't get the point you're trying to make with this. -- Pemilligan (talk) 04:37, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I did create, mere minutes ago, both the Eugene Vindman redirect, since that is the name under which he is running for Congress (vindmanforcongress.com) and also the Evhen Vindman redirect, since the given name "Eugene" is "Evhen" in his native Ukraine, while the name "Yevgeny" is what the name "Eugene" becomes in its Russian form. —Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 05:02, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

'Evindman' and potential COI?

[edit]

Hi all. Reviewing the edit history of this article shows that the account 'Evindman' created the page from its original redirect on 24 May 2022. This is the account's sole contribution on Wikipedia, and given the name and lack of biographical citations in the original edits it appears connected to the subject of the article. I am not super familiar with Wiki's policy on COIs or Autobiographies, but I just wanted to raise it as this issue has not been discussed yet. Considering many of the edits to this page since then have built off the original (likely) Vindman-created article, I feel like there should be discussion.
