[edit]

I changed the "lobbying for open standards" to "lobbying for proprietary software" since the debate is pretty much about how the EIFv2 draft turned from something in favour or open standards, to something in favour of proprietary software.

See evidences here, http://www.fsfe.org/projects/os/eifv2.en.html and some articles debating about that, i.e. http://www.computerworlduk.com/community/blogs/index.cfm?blogid=14&entryid=2620

Dear authors, I propose following changes:

  • As EIF 1.0 was not a part of the EU directive (as defined by What are EU directives), I would change the sentence to:

"The EIF 1.0 was issued under the Interoperable Delivery of European eGovernment Services to public Administrations, Businesses and Citizens programme (IDABC)

  • As EIF version 1.0 has not been ratified by the European Parliament, I would change the sentence to:

"EIF Version 1.0 was published in November 2004".

  • reference 3 leads to an obsolete page. I will update the link with the following. I will also correct the misspelled EIF in the second paragraph.
