In the picture she is not checking the woman's eye color but rather measuring her facial structure and skull.

Reworked[edit]

I reworked the article based on the references. Some material that seemed quite detailed but wasn't supported by refs I remarked out. I am waiting on the full text of a journal article from 2016 hoping it will provide more information. Please put any other refs here for additional information I can add to article.
