Opera singer / LGBT literature[edit]

I suggest it's inappropriate to categorise Siewert as an opera singer. MOS:LEAD: "The lead serves as an introduction to the article and a summary of its most important contents." Her brief stint as an opera singer doesn't warrant being mentioned in the lead sentence, nor is it defining enough to include her in that category. Both should be removed.

Also, the Category:LGBT literature seems inappropriate; it doesn't mention any other writers by name. One of the subcategories of Category:LGBT writers would be more appropriate. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 10:47, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I removed Category:LGBT literature in exchange for Category:LGBT writers as you suggested. However, I do not agree on removing the Category:Opera singers. She did perform for a year on a legit stage therefore she had a short career as an opera singer, even though she had to quit it after that. I would agree that it's probably not important enough to mention in the lead, on the other hand it was an important part of her early life and she fully trained for a career in the field. I would leave the decision about the lead to the main author of the article. --Grizma (talk) 18:33, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If a category for opera singers should remain, it should be the more specific Category:German operatic sopranos. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 00:14, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds perfect! I'll follow that suggestion, thanks for bringing it up. Grizma (talk) 08:21, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
